If I Say You Say So

You can choke on your own headlines
and stuff all your little lies in that metal box on your shelf.
I'm so through with putting up with all
the horrible things you put me through.
If we're supposed to be so perfect
then why am I the only one still ugly?

Mistakes aren't meant to happen
between the lines we drew.
And the ringing in my ears has finally
drowned out the beating of my heart.
Whenever you decide you are through playing with my mind
let me know, I'd like to move on, even though I won't let go.

Author notes

Hmm... this was actually inspired by my best friend's headline from his MySpace. I got to thinking about it and my little twisted head formed this theory about how someone could use against [what his headline said] and turn it into a malice and angry-minded poem. I really enjoyed this one. it flowed rather nicely and came out quickly. Enjoy.

Very nice. I can see where you can get your inspirations from. I really like the observation that is in the poem. I think that its very insightful to pull from something so simple as a headline or status. Very useful and creative. I really like the first stanza. Especially the last two lines, they are rather humorous in a way. very good write though! Check out my latest!
