Fast forward a tape cassette on life,
rewind time for only a moment.
Seasons turning ticked away,
Falling leaves tumble,
veins bleed crimson,
To the lines drawn upon my face.
each one tells a story.
Visions of hope,
painted the lanes I once did tread,
Overgrown hedgerows,
covered steps a footing,
tripping over,
grazed wounds hurt.
Hand held far reaching,
tentative a parent of a child weeping,
now became a parent themselves,
Love so special as were the smiles and tears of joy,
and two old people we are,
waiting...
