I like it, thoughtful with wisdom.
Love the first two lines!
Also though, from another point of view, I think 'silence' can be a blessing and it is we who are exiled from reality rather than the other way around. Realty being what it is and so not exiled from anything.

The curiosity- that's what got me. We turn our faces away from unpleasantness. Don't know if it's what you meant, but it's what I got. Plus, it went from line to line so easily.

A very dark little write. Your wording is excellent and though I know that this is suppose to be small, I think you could expand on it some after the contest, just to see where it leads you.
