Thrown Out Clothes and Eviction Notices

Mommy always called me her little princess,
And dressed me in cute clothes,
Mommy told me I should have a ball gown,
And glass slippers on my toes.

Mommy always told me,
I would be her little princess forever,
That I could have what I wanted,
No matter what; whenever.

Mommy forget to call me princess,
As I ran off to school,
She forgot to call me princess later,
While swimming in our pool.

Mommy cried all last night,
When she read a letter from some place,
Mommy and I ate in silence,
And Mommy forgot to say grace.

I asked Mommy what was wrong with her,
She said the bank was being bad,
She told me not to worry,
That she wasn't really sad.

Mommy packed our stuff up,
Well all that could fit in the car,
Mommy told me to get some sleep,
Because where we were going was really far.

I asked Mommy where we were going,
She said it was a new castle for me,
"A bigger place for my princess,
I bet you can't wait to see!"

We got to a place that was big,
And made from lots of bricks,
In the yard was a doggy,
Who, when I got out, licks.

Mommy talked to the man inside,
And gave him all my things,
All my pretty dresses,
And my shiny fairy wings.

HE smiled at me and I hid behind Mommy,
Then I followed Mommy inside,
"Princess, this is your Daddy,
So you don't have to hide."

"I'm really glad your doing this,
It means a lot to me."
Mommy started crying,
Then closed the door so I couldn't see.

Mommy then came out again,
Tissue in her hand,
Seeing Mommy this unhappy,
Was more than I could stand.

"You need to stay with Daddy awhile,
Until I can come back for you,
Just remember honey,
Your my fairytale come true.

You'll always be my princess,
And you know it's true,
Just remember baby,
I will ALWAYS love you."

I cried all night until Daddy came in,
And tried to calm me down,
He tried to give me presents,
Like a doll dressed as a clown.

The next day I threw away all my princess clothes,
That Mommy had gotten me long before,
I locked myself in my new room,
And fell asleep crying on the floor.

"Theres no such things as fairytales,"
I told myself as I listen to the locusts,
"Only tears and leaving Mommys,
Only thrown out clothes and eviction notices."

I really liked reading this. It was nicely written, though the rhyming seemed forced in a few of the places; it was still a great write. Thanks for entering. Good luck!

Yeah I had some trouble in a few spots and couldn't think of how else to word them while still getting my point across. ^^
