How really arrogant I'd be
To say a God belonged to me
The world contains too many fools
Who live by God-inspired rules
And their one God, who knows the lot
Invites them all to make things hot
For other folk whose God is less
It makes me mad, I must confess.
How many wars have taken place
In some God's name? It's a disgrace
And any God who's worth His salt
Would surely call immediate halt
To battles waged on His behalf
If it were not so sad, I'd laugh.
And why should God be seen as male?
And women put beyond the pale?
Or folk whose sexuality
Is different from you or me?
If God's as bigoted as Man
Then I for one am not a fan.
The Bible's not the word of God
'Twas writ by Man, and Man's a fraud
Who loves to think that God may be
Some large celestial He or She
Whose image is the same as ours
Apart from certain special powers.
I sort of guess your "competition"
May greet my views with some derision
If that's the case, then I won't fret
I'll pray to God to make you sweat
And then you'll get sent down below
Where all the naughty people go.

you seem to be a walking contradiction. At one point you deny God and condemn those who waged war in His name. But in closing you openly admit to believing in the power of prayer and the existance of Heaven and Hell.
The gender of God is stated over and over in the Bible and always refers to Him as male. If you see this as a personal problem, it is yours to battle with.
I look at your write as a positve message that He is working in your life. I hope that your new enlightenment comes soon

My friend, you are somewhat confused
I object to your god being used
As a personal prop
But I really should stop
Before I am roundly abused.
You do whatever makes you happy. I'll do the same. As for enlightenment, I'm just happy that the sun's come oot. -

Keith, God is not a prop but is often used as a willing crutch to help us remain balanced in turbulent as well as prosperous times. Everyone needs someone to turn to and when no human can be found, God is always there to listen and always has the best solutions

Here here,
God is god, one strange being, and ever more should be so.
There must man(kind) just let it rest, and stop being so thick.
