Hold Me Lord

Walking through my life, on a quest,
to fill my dreams and make the best.
Along the way I may stumble and fall,
sometimes too many times to recall.

Lost many loved ones along the way,
death came to call, they could not stay.
My love for them will always remain.
keep holding on to faith to sustain.

My faith to guide me and lead me on,
when life falls apart, courage is gone.
Shall not let darkness keep hold of me,
my love for Jesus helps me break free.

Hardest thing I faced, losing my son,
pain still lingers when day is done.
The man that I love is too far away,
to hold me close when sky turn gray.

It's then I search for God's inner peace,
in hopes that all my pain will release.
Alone I keep trying, with all my heart,
hold onto my Lord when sorrow starts.

I am always His child and never alone,
the Holy Spirit inside me has grown.
Touched by the hand of God and glory,
healing my heart, my life's sad story.

I stand before God,  pray to be strong,
heart has been hurting much to long.
Just round the bend, warm sunshine,
bring happier days that are all mine.

So difficult to lose a child - my heart goes out to you. I find strength in your unerring faith in God and I hope His love can help ease the burdon and the pain. This is such a sad poem but also one with great dignity and so much love. Peace be with you.

    I Loved This

I like the way you make your poem rhyme. I love rhyming poems. I also like the content of this one. You seem to be a very spiritual person. I don't call myself Christian anymore but I do have a Higher Power that I choose to call God.

I like the way you hold strong to your faith even though you've been through some tough times. I wish I could have done that.

"Hardest thing I faced, losing my son,
pain still lingers when day is done.
The man that I love is too far away,
to hold me close when sky turn gray.

It's then I search for God's inner peace,
in hopes that all my pain will release.
Alone I keep trying, with all my heart,
hold onto my Lord when sorrow starts."

It takes alot of stregnth and courage to do that. I'm glad you still believe in spite of what happened to you. Hang in there.

    Amen!

Auntie, you are preaching to the choir! Your truly has had his share of tough times, but if there is one thing my Mom taught me it's that prayer is always a great way to take the tension off. Great job with this one.

My heart go out for the loneness and sorrow left to one life. It grits teeth and stands alone, to remind the world, I have made it this far with Gods love and blessings many. To share warmth and hearts desires, but, today smiles in place will suffice for happier days can be claimed. This has wonderful rhyme and the flow is slow to give the reader time to step into this dialog and feel the inner peace through all sorrow as Gods child awaits nothing more than love.
