Wake Up Call

A pungent aroma
scintillates my senses
with ghosts of sun drenched
mountains and rich soils.

The first sip sends a warmth
through me as the bitter
nectar flows over my tongue
and I taste the earthy flavors
of the land.

Eyes half closed, I give myself
over to the pleasure… feeling my
body respond to the stimulation.

My morning mist is suddenly lifted
by an errant thought and a smile
erupts across my tousled covered
face…

“If only he was this good in bed…”
