Maybe It's The Air.

"Little one" she said
" One cannot take for granted what one doesn't truly have. "

I dreamt of growing up.

My soft skin melting into bone set
becoming structurally unsound behind a smile
that never really set until the quiet time.

Imperfect teeth
showered my fading scarred body
with condolences, and apologies
for the lives I led when I was young.

" Little one,
hate is something you can only overpower
when you learn that it's okay to love yourself."

I dreamt that I was wise.

My memories surrendered to a council
judging me based on reactions evoked
within my own expressions as I let
nostalgia become my only known path.

I smell of decay and shame, at times like these
when all I can remember is the time I kissed
the snake in the grass

when I was trapped,
or didn't fight back

silent girl, it's okay to cry
sometimes.

"Little one,
it's okay to be unsure.
Weakness is the inability to seek help."

I was weak, once.

I clicked on this piece and read it, i thought it was so beautifully scripted, I had to come back and leave out a great comment. Sometimes we do tell other of how magnicent they are but this time, I am bowing, and I'm saying thank you for your words and your style of writing have made me want to strive here and beyond. Indeed, this is spectacular, it is really poetry at its finest. You' sure have a lot of talent. keep on pressing the pen until the it bleeds out wisdom, was a pleasure to read

    Woah!

Speechless. All I can say is Ohh my Jonas! Lol. This was absolutely stunning. Especially the ending.

    Damn, That's Tasty!

too many levels of insightful/emotional/visual wonderfulness to comment on individually...

let's just use the literary descriptor: "Kick Ass"

I've got to agree with the poet below. That this is possibly the best piece i've ever read from you. Your happiness is a thrill and it's great to see.

This is full of wisdom! and so reflective
( ...and I nearly missed those four words hiding at the bottom)
This has delicacy too....can happiness really exist?
    Favourite bits include
"that never really set until the quiet time"
I love the things you dreamed of and the guidance given to (possibly by "the council" ...which this time is on your side....and is you! ...ah it is good that you are not fighting yourself ...or even beating yourself to a bleeding pulp as you were a little while ago)
    Whisper it!
