I'll wait for you

Missing image
I was a refuge in the war protecting soldiers from all harm.
Sitting here for three hundred years, I haven’t lost my charm.

My walls are filled with stories from all the visitors I’ve kept.
There have been men here with fine cigars, women who have wept.

I remember all the children playing inside and out of doors.
There have been a couple weddings here, an actually two wars.

They took time to build me carefully with love and much respect.
And through the years I’ve given back, I house and I protect.

People have changed so drastically in the last few hundred years.
But I remain a steadfast port with all my friends and peers.

I remember I had a favorite once her name was little Jenny Brown.
She was so full of life; and sweetest girl who’d ever been around.

The years we spent together as I watched that flower grow.
Were the finest of three hundred years I hated to see her go.

The family that lives with me today is as fine as they could be.
The shame is that they’re always gone, there’s no time left for me.

I will simply sit here waiting for someone to come on home.
I’m a place to house the living and I hate to be alone.

Terrific take from the house's prospective! Very creative and imaginative. Remodeling an old house would be amazing, and I think by doing that, helped you to create this wonderful story. Well done. Thanks so much for entering my contest and good luck!
