I would like a friend to hug
To love and hold and not to bug
They know whats right but try the worst
i would like to be the first
Even if they cant talk a word
Its my friend, dog or bird
They may not listen or talk to me
but its my life, well mostly
Its just as good as any pet
And it was special the first time we met
Id like to take the time to say
that this is my friend from day to day
So if you want to find a friend
then get someone that you can depend
cause if they learn to take the care
You both will be the best of pairs

this is different, considering the rest in the contest; you've taken a different angle, yet one just as clear
somehow, this is sadder than describing the horrors of life, for it highlights through the beauty
