I'm sorry you, are feeling down,
instead of smiling, you wear a frown.
In your heart, feeling low,
not sure where, to turn or go.
Life gets like this, at times, it's true,
sadness and depression, overcome you.
This is the time, to learn from him,
who paid the price, of mortal sin.
Jesus was perfect, in evey way,
he prayed to God, to guide his way.
To his dad he prayed, in love and trust,
remembering all, Gods ways are "Just."
Injustice befalls us, in life, I know,
our hearts break, "we suffer so."
Throw your burdens, unto him,
he promises he, "will take you in."
Place your trust, in his way,
as you kneel, to him, and pray.
Your heart and mind, he will protect,
Spiritual needs, please don't neglect.
Read his words, a little each day,
listen to him, he'll guide the way.
The earth, a "Paradise" will be,
those resting in death, "returned, you'll see."
Pain and suffering, gone away,
for all who chose, to trust and pray.
Then you'll smile, eyes shining bright,
as you behold the sheer delight.
"The Paradise prepared for you."
Because your love, for him was true.
I hope my poem has made you smile,
made you feel, that lifes "worthwhile."
You will behold that lifes a treasue,
living life, to it's fullest measure,
Body and mind in harmony,
Living your life, as it was meant to be.
As you praise him every day,
walking each step, in his way.
Follow the steps that Jesus trod,
they will lead you, straight to God.
Oh the joy! you will behold,
in the pastures of his fold.
Where Loving kindness rules each day,
for all who chose, to trust and pray.

What a beautiful spiritual poem of encouragement and wisdom. I'm sure Nikki will find much comfort in your poem you wrote for her. I love the rhyme through the poem and the strong message of the truth in which is in our Lord, God and Savior. He is our Savior now and for eternity. Thank you for your beautiful entry and best of luck in the contest.
Many Blessings

Thank you Kelle Marie for the points and your encouraging words. I hope you enjoyed your holiday and are feeling a little better, although I realise, at present things will never be the same for us until we have our loved ones back.
I hope Nikki finds comfort through the hope that God promises to fulfil, and by having good friends like you to encourage her along the way to reach her goals in life.
Take care dear friend, much love and hugggs, Godbless,

As usual, great write. I couldn't help but think of what a friend and I were studying recently- in John 11 (the story of Lazarus) Jesus thanks God for hearing Him. We can know that God always hears us and listens, even if He takes a while in answering. He never promised this life would be easy, but like you said, He is just and we always have the hope of heaven. I love the last stanza. One thing is that all the quotations can be a little distracting, but overall wonderful piece. :-)

Thank you for your kind comment, and the scriptural referance of Lazarus mentioned in John 11.
I found this really shows what heartfelt compassion and empathy Jesus feels us who mourn a loved one in death, where it says "Jesus wept" (John 11:35)
Jesus showed us, that the feelings and emotions that grief brings breaks our heart and causes us great pain, for even he the perfect man wept....even although he was going there to ressurrect Lazarus back to life..
Take care and kind thoughts, and thank you for your scriptural referance and encouraging words.

Ahh! yes Darkened Amber, I looked song no 4 up "Gods Promise Of Paradise." I absolutely love that song taken from Luke 23:43.
Because Jehovahs words are in our mind and hearts, it reflects in the things we say and write.
Take care dear sis, love ya!

The title says it all.
The title says it all. He does pick us up when we are down. As the old song says: Trust and Obey, there is no other way to be happy… You have done a great job with this write, in sharing your faith. Your poem not only made me smile, it reaffirms my blessed assurance. Thanks for sharing.
Bless you my British friend. Hope you’re doing well and may you do well in the contest.

this is a wonderful poem! it truly is a comfort that jesus can sympathise with us and that we have such a wonderful loving fatger, jehovah! at first it was hard for me to read with the comma's and punctuation mid-stream in the lines, it seemed choppy to me, but then i read the poem ignoring the commas and it flowed nicely! just a bit of critique for ya

Hallo Bannafoster42, hope you are well. Thank you for your kind words and constructive criticsm, I had thought about the comma's as it being a poem. But somehow in my head, I thought they sort of personalised it so that it was like a personal letter of encouragement, with a little ring of rhyme.
I can see what you mean by the flow, but by the person pausing to think about what I was saying to her personally, to reach her heart more as way of a personal letter, I did not mind forfeiting the flow so as to make it a personal letter, with a hint of rhyme.
I do agree with what you said about the commas for the sake of poetry though so thank you for this and thankyou for your kind comment also.

Heart warming to know " the son of man" can empathize with us mortals. After all, he did live with us on earth for 30 some odd years all the while healing the sick, raising the dead and preaching "The Kingdom" as the solution for our woes. Thanks for sharing some spirit and light here at AP. WRITE ON!
