Her Ink

Missing image

Just a wisp of a woman, hovering, like bird,
over life, and leavings, and knows when to linger
longer in order to rub essence all over her
to carry, courageously, out into the open
for others to partake of her exact nuances
of what ink can do

she hums, snippets of songs she has heard
where everyone else listened, but did not make note of

her dip into pots and from palettes
washes those who peer into her window
to see her bent over, polishing, prying meaning
from beneath these crusts that grip stems
in order to feed off them

I am one whose knows the nectar of her pen.

What a description of an artist, provocative, deeply imaginative. I re-read this many times in a row, for the pleasure of tasting the lovely phrases. Best of luck.

I'm so glad you used this woman's poetry to inspire this, because having visited her page, I loved what I read, too. It's lovely to catch a glimpse of her character through your eyes, too. I get the feeling she sings snippets of her own song very well!
