Back in nineteen eighty two
They predicted we were all through
All the planets would align
This would be the end of time
The force of all this stress
Would leave the Earth a total mess
As gravities pull became too hard
And we collapse like a house of card
But what we fail to recognize
Is the Earth was built to Survive
And has been hanging here in space
Five billion years in this one place
I’m sure that the planets have all aligned before
Once or twice or even more
And the Earth is still spinning around the sun
And our moon it still joins the fun
So worry not when people cry
For we all are about to die
And even when man's time is gone
The world we named Earth will spin on
Turning quietly here in space
And just maybe evolving a brand new race
As in the past was the dinosaur
the circle of life has passed before
Our stay upon the Earth is short enough
Without worrying about celestial stuff
So enjoy your days before they end
And we return to dust my friend…
