Bullets flying
up range,
but don't worry,
that flag
on your shoulder
will keep you safe.
Less deaths
in a year
then a day
in Vietnam,
yet still
the media
give us no rest.
We went for peace,
and we are almost
done, but still
they talk of pulling
us out, now,
at the worst of times.
These civilians
don't know the real
war, they don't know
the pain and the sorrow,
so who are they to judge
how we do our job.
