Confessions of a Lover

I have...
            Clamy skin.
                            Goosebumps like an orange peel.
And all I did was look at you.

Confession would be appropriate.
If to think is to do,
I'm thinking of you

in more than one biblical way.

Your big blue eyes, so sweet and warm
have my stomach in more knots than a head full of dreadlocks...
have my mind in the mood for loving you...
have my eyes exploring your beautiful body...
                              your breasts are lush.
                                              [i will be gentle]
                              your skin is warm and soft.
                                              [my hands and lips can be delicate and light]
                              your lips are plump and ripe.
                                              [could I taste them?]
                              your body is my wonderland.
                                              [more rides, tastes, smells, and sounds than a goddamn carnival.]
have my hands trembling to touch you.
          [anywhere you'd let me]
have my voice quivering to whisper those words my heart is beating to say to only you.
                                              [I love you.]


This love is deeper than...
                                    any sex could represent.
                                                                      any heat could set afire.
                                                                                                        any light could indicate.

To  only  touch your porcelain skin would be a crime.
To  only  kiss your lips in a delicate manor would be injustice.
To  only  hold your unclothed body so close to mine our body heat could smother a small child
                                                          ...would be a sin.

But to take you in
      to let you in
      to appreciate every feature
      to know that my hands inspired
                                                    your every breath.
                                                    your every sigh.
                                                    your every tension.
                                                    your every relaxation.
                                                    your every whimper.
                                                    your every bead of sweat.
      to know that my hands satisfied
                                                    your every desire.   
      to love you
      to make love to you

So beautiful a bond between us could share--
one so deep, the ocean couldn't grasp
                                  [we shouldn't be bothered when we share our love]
one so beautiful, Spring leaves would fall in surrender
                                  [no phase of their lives could be so breathtaking]
one so true, George Washington would tell a lie
                                  [because he couldn't even compete with such honesty]
one so delicate, feathers would harden to diamonds
                                  [even then, they couldn't sparkle such as you]
one so lasting, the stars would all burn out
                                  [sad, yes, but I'd rather look at you]

But in that moment,
that moment when we know from across the room
                                                    perhaps a glance
                                                    perhaps a wink
                                                    perhaps a nod
                                                    perhaps a smile
when you know that you need me,
when I know that I need you,
when our love is so thick everyone in a 100 mile radius suffocates from its overtaking,
when it is you and me,
        and i stare into those beautiful eyes
        and i touch your beautiful face
        and my lips connect with yours like adjoining puzzle pieces
                                      [my body relaxes]
                                      [my pulse climbs]
when your thoughts are of only love,

it is only then that we will make it.
