But inside both of us we knew the truth
We were rivals.
Bitter enemies competing for one thing
One PERSON
You knew the situation
You just didn't care
You wanted to use him, where I wanted to love him.
We were in a battle
One I'm not sure we've finished just yet
You had won, but then you lost again
And now I AM the winner,
But I'm sorry to say that your name is often still on his lips
And maybe the truth is that we've BOTH lost him in our epic war with one another
And there IS no winner.
