Playing the Piano

My fingers go up and down the keys,
from bass clef to the treble.
Those darn little sharps
are causing me so much grief.

My mom tells me to practice,
And make sure I count.
one-two-three-four,
the song keeps going on.

"Sonata in G" is a tricky song.
With a complicated key signature
and eighth notes galore,
It will take me weeks to master it.

But I keep trying at it,
because practice makes perfect.
I might not be Bach,
but I can enjoy playing!

    I wish I could play the piano, it is a beautiful musical instrument and I can imagine not so easy to play

    I love poetry about music! I learned a lot from this poem--2 clefs? Gosh, that must be annoying, and here I find it hard to go from viola to violin to guitar! I don't play piano, so this intriguing to read about it, and I could clearly see you enjoy being a musician! Great job, and good luck to you in the contest!

    Oh I love this! I certainly understand what you mean because I learnt the piano when I was younger too. Yes indeed you do need to keep practicing It is fun thopugh. Thanks so much for your entry and good luck with your practicing

    The piano. The piano I find brings comforting music, and songs that are enjoyed by so many around the world. It take spatience and determination to keep playing an instrument, especially for tough songs. I applaud you, for sticking to it at a younger age. Good luck to you in the contest.
