I'm not sure god was a man
or anything that had hands.
I don't yet understand
why people go and brand
themselves as made by hand.
As if god could not design
a more solid, flawless plan...
So he sits around all day
instead, molding every kind
of thing there is by hand.
I like to think of god
less like a human being than
as something more abstract,
like nothing we have ever seen.
I think his plans are carried
out much more effectively
than anything we could achieve
because I believe he operates
in ways we can't conceive.
I think it mildly arrogant
and maybe even slightly vain
to think we know gods image
when we see our own each day.

This is a great poem! It really made me think. I enjoyed your rhyme and you sent a powerful message about both greed, vanity, and spirituality. Great job!
