Fingers wistfully trace rectangular edges,
as tears drop onto upturned earth
Red ribbons wrap nestled promises,
gently placed next to the hands of time
Trinkets tucked in velvet pockets,
remembrances of true love's birth
Monochrome captured moments,
life and love entwined
Flowers pressed within worn pages,
of journeyed hopes and dreams
Lying uncovered through the years,
Will lay in wait for my return
Firsts marked in miles of stones,
this long life lived short it seems
Fingers wistfully trace rectangular edges,
comparing notes of lessons learned

I love it! I love it! Flowers presse in worn books, just love that line and you are reminding me how much I am missing pressing flowers.

love those mementos of that past, gathering dust as I gather small wrinkles
it's always nice to visit an old love letter, and remember how it once made you feel, or photos from times when youht embraced your dreams and kissed you with the wet smooosh of hope. lovely write as always Michelle.~~~Artis

I can not help but think of the times we shared which seems like only yesterday and the lesson of patience I have yet to learn. Excellent work my friend.

Dear Eva,
Plenty to give pause for thought with imaginative metaphoric coupling. My favourites are:
"Flowers pressed within worn pages,
of journeyed hopes and dreams"
and:
"Firsts marked in miles of stones,
this long life lived short it seems"
but that's not to say I haven't savoured the others too.....
Thanks for sharing. I have bookmarked.
With love and hugs,
Hans.
