Friendly
Lorikeets
Yellow, red, blue and green
In rainbows’ colours bright
Noisy raucous screeching’
Gathering in numbers flocking
Feathered wings flashing
Resting in trees camouflaged
Effervescent, excitable or quarrelsome
Escapades of frolicking mischief.
Rainbow lorikeets forever flying free
Author notes
Border created by Jeannie D ..Thank you for this one hun..these birds are beautiful very friendly. Had about 40 who used to visit regularly bringing back their young each year ..... sadly too many people put the wrong food type out for them and it is causing problems. They have a brush tongue and love to eat amongst the Bottlebrush trees. But they do enjoy fermenting mango and will happily get drunk...pity they dont teach dont drink and fly because I have seen too many fly into closed windows.
Please tell me what you think

Down there in Australia you have the greatest selection of birds I have ever seen. These are no exception...Your acrostic is delightful, and your author notes give a good explanation of your concern for them, and description about them....A wonderful write as always!

pretty birds they are aren't they, do they really get drunk off fermenting mango wine? Drinking and flying......sounds dangerous to me.
