Waiting

Sitting atop a Skyline cable equipment

pedestal, her bicycle lay on the grass

as the traffic buzzed around her

While the lulled hands with their

closebitten redchipped nails, lay

cradled in her lap

As her eyes leapt the horizon

with the hushed kick from within

This is an eerie poem...there's a quiet peacfulness to the tone and manner of description and yet an overwhelming sense of impending doom by the end...it's rather unnerving. Very nicely done, it is something when just a few words can coax so many emotions! , Dannie
