I feel your nail upon my skin;
The one you pluck your guitar strings with
(And my heart-strings too.)
And its been sixty-two days now
Since we've found each other.
And standing here,
In our own private wonderland
Beneath the lightpost at the end of my street,
I recall all our times together,
Especially the ones we shared on the beach.
I was glad we picked the least popular spot to make our camp,
As we were alone,
And it was there you gave me my first rose,
The most special one I have ever received.
And it was there;
In our camp,
The camp of You and I
That I had a glimpse of our future together.
And it is here;
On day sixty-two
That this glimpse comes true
As you hand me a ring,
And say the word,
"Forever"
And for the first of two times in my entire life
I say the words,
"I do."
