All the days of my life I wanted her
To feel the touch of her winter smiles
A thorny rose that bled at the touch
Were her fingers so slim and white
That she shone with a light from within
And the night hid her face from my sin
All the days of my life I knew her
As they passed with her beauty and grace
While her dress was the purest of crimson
And she spoke with the clearest of words
But her eyes reflected such sadness
This mistress of this sad, sorry world
So I prayed for forgiveness and redemption
With such hope in this heavy, broken heart
And I waited in line to make purchase
A small trinket, a relic, a small part
As the light that shone forth from within her
With her words of such beauty and grace
All the days of my life I was pining
As the darkness became a veil over her face
