for once
something tells me I'm dying
but you keep telling me I'm not
I was late ten minutes ago
but you've got a hell of a grip
I knew I shouldn't have gotten up this morning
I knew you'd notice I was leaving early
one two three four five six seven eight
happy for right now and happy to wait
we're on my front step in my rural hometown in MA
normally this would be fine but you're different today
you're not usually this happy but I guess that's okay
something tells me I'm dying
but you won't shut up
telling me I'm not
and to come on 'cause I'm going to be late
stand me up straight and look me in the eye
"Chris, you forgot to say goodbye!"
make me too hot and kiss me deep
"Chris, you need to get more sleep."
by the time she let me go I was hot as hell
I stumbled out the door and almost fell
I run to class thinking what's there to doubt
and I drink lots of water to get the taste out

i can just imagine a guy walking out the door then his loving girlfriend running after him to say goodbye. -i don't think this is the desired affect, but it's what i got!!
