Love is the fuel of happiness

Sometimes when you're full of hate,
and envy’s knocking at your gate,
then as you’re feeling mighty sad,
and everything just drives you mad.
Surrender to  love’s sweet caress,
caus’ love is the fuel of happiness.

And when you’re feeling all alone,
ring your sweetheart on the phone,
and do, no longer hesitate.
You’re simply in the arms of fate.
Your life could be a great  success,
because love is the fuel of happiness.

Many promises quite solemnly made,
by friends who decided to renegue.
Don’t get upset and hang your head,
give a great big smile instead.
Don’t bow to this unneeded stress,
because love is the fuel of  happiness

    "Love is the fuel of happiness" - great line.
    It's also the fuel of jealousy, mistrust, depression.... lol. We're not going to go there though.

    Wonderful, uplifting write. Definitely perfect for Valentine's Day and anniversaries!

    Anyways this poem made me smile about a thousand different times, especially this part:

    Haha. This made me smile upon a whole bunch of rather depressing poems. Nice entry into my contest enough though I'm not quite sure it fits, I'm thinking it goes sometime after you've fixed your heart and are looking for a better love but idk. Anyway, nice entry

    Loved this part. It flowed so perfectly! Kinda of like a courtet singing a C minor all in harmony! (Don't ask about the courtet thing, Lol!) Great job and good luck!

    this time repetition seems to work. I feel that the rhyme was solid. a bump here or there but overall it was solid thank you for entering

    Not bad. A little rough in spots, but overall good meter. Good message too. I liked the repeating line throughout.
