In my life.

In my life, I have been many things
Clinging on tightly to the seagulls wings
dancing and spinning and riding the breeze
That was the past though and now I have strings

My youth is quite over and adulthood looms
Working all hours and wandering dark rooms
Find spiking patterns and search for the truth
Grim partners are bedfellows and horrors amuse

Choices are as precious as diamonds to me
Do I forge onwards or just wait and see
Mischevious voices whisper such treats
I try to ignore them, it comes with a fee

I now need some courage to help me decide
Far reaching results will depend on the tide
and if I can only be brave and think with one mind
Do I leave now to wander or stay by his side

And so to the future and what it might hold
An unknown blurred boundary starts to unfold
Sun shimmers, heat rises and warms up my soul
Embracing the light and enjoying the whole

This reminds me of Tichbourne's Elegy, or lines written on the eve of his execution, and as that's one of my favourite poems, it's a good thing! Very minor typo in the opening line, use the plural, it will also aid the rhyme. I did enjoy this, it'sa profound and moving write. Many thanks for entering my contest. Good luck, this is good!
