Storm Fed

Missing image

~~~~~
The pores of my mind
smother in the stale sticky swelter
and the bones in my back
bend with the heat
Where are the breezes
promised by the thunder
groaning in the distance
with full heavy tits
blue-veined and raw
I want to suckle there
in the crook of the horizon
and feed on the dreams
leaking from the skin of the night
in jagged streaks of white-hot silver
Because it’s that light
winking from the pit of the sky
that pulls me into the eye of the storm
with thoughts of a cool clean tomorrow
    The second stanza is so clear and provoking. How the poem unfolds is sort of for clarity, especially in that last stanza with the added because at the start. The bending of the images and how they feel, help guide the poem. I really enjoyed this one and thought the imagery was carefully chosen.
    Wow! Great imagery here, you really have a knack of putting a rawness in your work that echos with so much truth. I love it!
