I want you to know who I am.

Your caustic words strip my
painted mask away
acid tears leak, scarring
marring my flesh.
But I want you to know who I am.

Your hard, uncaring hands
force my body to yeild,
bruises stain my shrinking skin
aching with broken promises.
But I want you to know who I am.

Your frozen eyes see through my
carefully designed walls
deep into my flawed soul,
they rove like invading armies.
But I want you to know who I am.

Your brutality threatens my sanity,
fragile already, it cracks under your
unyeilding intensity, I can no longer hide
my sins, you smile grimly, and I cry.
But I want you to know who I am.

You kiss the tears from my cheeks,
whispered words of hate and adoration
tumble through my shuddering mind
I don't want to love you,
But I want you to know who I am.
