Tangeled in a rose bush
where life itself
cuts and makes you bleed,
Yet...
a smile
touches your heart
and gets you through,
Agony may play its part,
But if you remember...
its only temporary
those bruises never matter,
Listen to a child's laughter
and see what I see,
Look to a couple
and touch their love,
Rough roads pass on by,
Don't forget to smell the roses
and enjoy life,
For life is to be enjoyed,
Yes...
Reality takes its turn,
But the journey traveled with an open heart
reveals so many pleasures,
We must not forget to open our eyes.
In a list
Please tell me what you think

Dear Bill, I'm so pleased you found your poems and that you're posting them on Allpoetry.
As we get older we take the time to look around and smell the roses. Life is too short not to enjoy it.
Hug the ones you love, tell them how much you care and as your poem says "We must not forget to open our eyes."
You'd be surprised at what you can see.
Great poem my friend.
Love Joan

looking beyond circumstance....
and the importance of securing those memories of
renewal and inspiration that strengthen our inner
muscles to Press through...with a focus of determination
despite a journey of circumstance.
WIth so much media focus on physical, and commercials
asking us if we feel sad..oh, simply take our
anti-depressants...because afterall..you don't want to
feel ...despair, or anguish, even agony...simply take
a pill...you won't need anyone to talk to or help you
cope with your feelings...strengthening your soul
to learn how to PULL THROUGH..it's amazing actually
i have any unbroken tv's in our house!
