dear soulmate,
when i find you,
we will run through cities,
exploring life in a
trippy artsy psychedelic
dream sequence;
we will fall in love with
breathing and heartbeats
and the colors of the wind,
and we'll be saturated with
nature and love and air and
the beautiful hell that is
earth.
we'll keep rose-colored glasses tight to our eyes
so even our broken dreams can't get to us;
we'll stay locked in each other's hearts,
the keys swallowed, disintegrating in the acid
waiting hungrily in our stomachs.
because even when our skin is ripped
and our thoughts twist enigmatically,
trying to solve all the problems in our lives,
our hearts saturate the world with colors and contrast,
driving us to places where there is beauty in pain --
where the red of pinpricked skin doesn't hurt,
but is just an affirmation of life.
and throughout it all, love,
our hands will be intertwined
and we will be safe at last.
