After My Mother Died

My world changed,

It was not the same

as before; the sights,

sounds, even smells

all became subdued

except for my heart

screaming in pain.

it always amazes me how life changes because of the people in, or not remaining in our lives...affecting us..every day, our thoughts, what we do with them...that is a big part of what makes us who we are...this is ache in solitude, indeed, thanks for this entry, Micheal

Solitude as a consequence of loss. Sadness with the solitude. Good take on the prompt.
    Thanks for this.

Wow.. I can imagine it will be exactly the same when my mother passes. You loved her deeply I can tell. You seem to be bringing me to tears a lot tonight!

    Powerful poem indeed.
It's about your mother dying but could be used to describe many a situation.
I hope that broken heart mends.
