Outershell

You only see the outer shell
Not the me that hides beneath,
Never the vacant eyes acquired
From heartbreak and grief,
Never the veined reality
Always the outward calm,
You see the painted surface
But not where I’m coming from.

Isn't it disturbing how so many people only see us for our outter shell instead of for all of who we really are??? You wrote a deep piece that reflects well on the darkness of society and i thank you for entering my contest

Ohhh nice take... I love the darkness, the hidden side that only we know peering out and laughing at the world... Well done!
