Peace...

Missing image
Relaxing upon the rugged rock bed
Sun baking along the water’s edge
Today’s papers around me to be read
Watching the seagulls land on the ledge

Bay is crowded with ships and trawlers
Hearing the ship’s whistle blast a call
Docks are busy with trucks and haulers
Smell of the sea, cloudless sky I’m enthrall

Sea has my heart, why be upset
just sitting for hours, as time I forget…

Ahh, I love the feeling you've placed among the lines you've penned here for the reader to pull it out and enjoy the scene
Lovely flow with wonderful rhymes and the image is quite crystal clear ^^
I pretty much enjoyed this especially with the lines lingering the moment in the poem longer for the reader to ponder on with ease ~

This poem captures the spirit of a bustling harbour or beach.

'Sea has my heart, why be upset
just sitting for hours, as time I forget…'

Aye, it is easy to let the ocean carry away time.

Thank you for sharing with us

I really enjoyed reading this. It brought a sort of calm over me and made me feel I was back on vacation on South Padre Island. (though it probably isn't very pretty right now after hurricane Dolly). The imagery was quite lovely. The overall mood was wonderful and the rhyme scheme very nice
