Reality--the Fact

It is not what you see but how you look at it. If you don't like what you see, change your perception. If you cannot see any good, look another direction.

The one and only thing you can change is yourself. And only you have control over your actions and reactions.

Negative reaction creates even more disharmony. But you don't have to have your way to be happy. When you give a little extra, you'll get a lot  more in return.

Let no one rob you of your joy.

Jacks, at first this is a difficult thing to practice. But like all new things, it gets easier. Let no one but you control your destiny

Joe, return read sent me back to Reality--the Fact and I was pleased to peruse this again, it's inherent message is pertinent to me today as someone attempted to colour my day differently but it's still a fruitful day, when all is said and done most endings are inevitable for that which should never have begun. Listened to any cool new music lately my friend? If not, try Jack Savoretti and his track "Dreamers"

    Peace from across the Pond

Yvette, I'm glad this piece still serves it's purpose. Like you, I too find it impossible at times to keep from over-reacting to certain people and situations. That's when I sound off and quickly move on reminding myself I'm just human.

      your ever friend on call,

      Joe

    Excellent!

You're a wise man, this is truth. I'm a "glass is half-empty", pessimistic kind of person due to the past - but I'm working on it. Thank you!

Deb, don't know being wise, just a lot of years and ten thousand plus miles of traveling. Don't concern yourself about you glass being half empty---throw it out the window, get a new one and begin start filling it with the good things you have today. Only one person has control over your happiness and that's YOU!!

Jennifer, there is great deal more to this concept and would take several encyclopedias to put into words all I know about the subject. So always bear in mind, that while one cannot effectively change another, it is the subtle changes for the good one makes in themselves that brings about positive changes in someone else

Undoubtedly the philosophical point of view may serve us well within some situations, but not all, how are we to find a different perspective about Genocide, Child Abuse, Terrorism, it's easy to say look for the good or look the other way, what good is there in Infidelity, Racism, Domestic Violence etcetera?

I agree that no one can change the self except the self, I believe in looking for the good but no, we simply can't look away from all that is wrong and say we must change our own perspective when we are faced with dark things all around, though I also feel that the answer is not to recreate their dark deeds in turn but find a way peacefully.

It would be a nice world if your Reality--the Fact worked, but I fail to see how it would work, though I applaud your intent.

Yvette, this is the response I was waiting for. The events you mention are truly horrible and abomnible to the victim and the survivor. As did happen after 9/11, the good of them is their ability to draw people closer together and form a more unified front to raise more awareness and put an end to such atrocities.

The primary objective of my statements is aimed more to the depressed and down trodden and those prone to anger outbursts. By finding a way to look at life in a positive fashion alcohol and drug abuse would go to an all time low. Just this change alone would put an end to most violence. No doubt you agree that substance abuse is the major contributor.

There are times when some forms of violence must be met with violence but if the world in general changes thier approach we would live in a much more peaceful world.

      Thank you for your honesty,

      Joe

Prabhu, the magic eye of the soul, is what I call the 'Third eye'. Stemming from the combination of seeing through the heart and mind. This way thier is a greater balance between intellect and emotion
