Birdsong

The chattering choir lift voices in chorus
Singing to the sun on a Sabbath morn
Cheer a fine substitute for quality.

Down on the dunes by the deep, dipping waves
Alluring low voices are lilting,
Birds of expressive, enticing exotics.

Paddling in ponds the ducks pool together,
Quacking like an off-key concerto,
Beside stately, sumptuous swans.

Plunking the plastic, painted piano
Imitating the intricate intonations
Of the beautiful, bantering birdsong.

Author notes

It just came to me that Lilje would mean birdsong.
As you can probably see, I tried to have some of the words in each line beginning with the same letter... some of it sounds bad but I wanted to try it out.
For this second contest... well, it's alliteration... but not very much, I guess. Oh well.

First entry, thanks for entering my contest. Your alliteration seems to act like a bass drum holding a song together, I like it. Good luck and keep penning

That first stanza is amazing! That itself could be a poem. The rest of the poem follows nicely, and I clearly imagined a clear picture of the birds singing their song. Very poetic and beautiful!

When the contest has ended you'll see if your interpretation of the word is close to its actual meaning!
