Finding Faith

They say that grace will lead me home
If faith and hope are true.
But faith I lack, I turn my back
'Cause God, I can't find you.

They say that God is everywhere,
And I see miracles everyday,
But the innocent die, the guilty lie
-If God exists doesn't he have a say?

They say that God knows everything.
Does he know that I'm struggling within?
When times are dark, and life makes its mark,
Where is He when times are grim?

They say that God is watching
But disbelief is not a crime,
Though I will come back, like sheep to the flock,
Be there Lord, 'cause I'll take my time.

Author notes

I wrote this last year at a difficult time. I do believe in God, very strongly. However, it took me a while to be certain.

    Wonderfully expressed sentiment...

Faith is something that it can take a while to come to terms with...
    Great narrative, rhythm & flow...
    Profound, honest & heartfelt...
    Well done!!!

Many of us are still wallowing in the while it takes us to be certain. I speak for myself.

I really liked this one. It's a beautiful dose of human honesty. So many times we go along believing things because the people around us believe or because it's what we're raised with. It sort of fills a void to read this, I guess because I find myself in that boat right now. Great write!

Don't feel bad not believing in God,
because he never stopped believing in you.
    Redemption through suffering.
One of the best breeding grounds for poetry.
    Really nice job lass.

    Blessings always,

This actually is one of the best I have read, reomving the strong-god-takes-of-everything-self in me and reading it makes me say this
