Mannequins are plastic,
You are flesh and bone.
The consequence catastrophic,
Feeling so alone.
But you are all you need to be,
Everything and more.
Look beyond the reflection you see,
Beyond the distorted horror.
For it's only in your mind,
The mirror does not hold you.
As the voices start to bind,
You will faulter as we all do.
Rise above the pain,
Look beyond hazed glass.
For then you will escape the chains,
And see beyond the mask.

Wonderful write. I have to agree with what you say, we are so easily lead by marketing concepts of corporate business, twisting our minds to make us into something that we aren't. Good way of bringing about you point. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The media is such a horrible thing for people [especially young teenage adults] to get stereotypes and see what it means to be "beautiful". It's a horrible thing. your authors notes are true with words and thoughts and really reads a message out loud and clear. yet so many of usare hypnotized by media, and bullys and other things that we forget to look at the positive (hehe see i listened). i love the way your words read with such a strong and thought provoking message and I really love the flow and truth in this too. well done hun
