I'm going to be there through everything.
Because you need me to be.
I hear how your voice breaks when you think that I'm leaving.
And I like the fact that you need me.
I'm going to be there through every great moment.
When we're so happy our hearts come close to exploding.
And our smiles crack our cheeks and our hands start to sweat.
When your so happy that your laughter turns to joyful crying.
I'm going to be there at your wedding.
Standing, and shaking in front of you.
My hands will tremble while they hold onto your hands.
As your voice quivers the perfect sound of "I do."
I'm going to be there when you first hold your baby.
And she reaches up and touches your nose.
And I'm going to smile and cry just a little
to know that that baby will have the perfect daddy as she grows.
And I'm going to be there between now and then.
When "now" is us growing and our hearts breaking and mending.
And when "then" is the smiles we get whenever we're happy.
When "then" is the moment when our life feels never ending.
And I'm going to be there when we're both old and crispy.
And grandbabies play at our feet.
And I'm going to smile at you every time you forget where you left the remote.
And I'm going to laugh a little when your face starts to wrinkle
And you have to lean over to hear what I say or forget where your supposed to go.
Because then I will know,
when we drive to the diner for the early bird special,
and you have to push me in a wheelchair because I'm too fragile to walk,
that everything in life was worth going through.
Every tear that I cried, every wound that we bandanged,
Was worth the next 90 years that I spent every moment with you.
And I'm looking forward to it.
More than you will ever know.
Even though times are hard right now,
And some moments are silent and lonely,
I know in my heart that every second is worth it,
Because the next 90 years belong to me and you.
Please tell me what you think

I'm wondering, why on Earth I haven't read this poem earlier? Like I said before, I like the simpleness in your poems. It makes them even more amazing.
