Free me of emotion,
overbearing on my soul.
Free me of the thoughts,
slowly taking toll.
Free me of the face,
staring through the cloud.
Free me of the desperation,
I so freely allowed.
Free me of the air,
sweeping right on by.
Free me of the thought,
lest I bother try.
Least in life the chances I take,
I find I have a chance to make or break.
Break my wings or learn to fly,
or crash again and forget to try.
Free me of this,
not a kinder moment brought,
free me till I'm free,
that final moment sought.
