God

Perverse happiness
and child-like glee
fills your days,
as you burn ants
using a magnifying glass,
shame flickers
but doesn’t reach the pit of your stomach.

Please tell me what you think

    Very interesting write. On one hand it makes me think of my days as a carefree child and the awful things I did to helpless creatures, but on the other hand it makes me think of the world in general. It's amazing how a few lines can speak volumes.

    Wow, haven't seen a lot from you lately, then you drop this one. It's so short and seems to speak volumes. I think I understand the poem itself, but the title throws me off a bit. I have to admit, what I think it might mean could be way off. Even still, I think this is one of my favorites of yours.

    How have you been, BTW?

      Hey sorry this took so long. I've been concentrating on my last month of summer; which left me little computer time. And as for the meaning; it kind of is something I felt. Like an allmighty maker with no concern for his creations; a game if you will. I don't know, it was a quick write that meant alot to me when I wrote it.

      And I've been well, doing the teenage run around to enjoy my last bit of summer freedom; but school started today so I'm finaly getting back to some structure and hopefully back to my writing. (: How have you been?

        I've been great. I've been enjoying the summer too, so I haven't been writing much either. I don't really have the will to force myself to write, but I'll get back into it more eventually I'm sure. Glad to hear from you.
