i miss the innocents of childhood
where everything was a game
nothing bad ever happened
you fell down
but were right back up again
never alone
unless you wanted to be
even then you had toys
to play with
you had animals to be
and jobs to try
the grass was just fine
on your side of the fence
and if not you had a friend
that asked you
over to play on there side
it didnt matter if you
were democrat or republican
or who even won the race to run our country
it didnt matter what the price of gas was
or how much things cost
who lost jobs
life was simple easy
all you had to know was your ABCs
123s and what was for lunch

Hah! I love the content of this poem! So true!
I was noticing your age (15), and at first though - yeah, if you only knew what was to come when you reach adulthood. Then I remembered how difficult life was at 15, and I remember thinking how I wished I could be little again.
Now that I'm in my 20's, I often think I wish I could be 16 again - but truly, it is a trying time.
I want you to know that the things that bother you now generally fade away with time. You stop feeling like you don't fit in - you find somewhere you do. You stop worrying so much about what people think - you already know. Most of all, you become more comfortable with yourself.
Well written poem. Great ideas and iamges.
I like the political statement towards the end, too.
