In the morning wake up slowly and get dressed and packed for school
Liftshare with the weird people who will always follow rules
And the radio is buzzing like a wasp caught by a glass
Radio one's random chatter is just a pain in the ass
Walking down the empty corridor then up the narrow stairs
Knowing everyone in class will all be sat in groups on chairs
But because you're no the same as them they tend to blank you out
Talking speedily on topics you know bugger all about
So you look for your friends and there they are wandering about
Because just like you, their forms will often tend to leave them out
We go to our normal toilets to do make up, check our hair
But half-heartedly because there's no real reason there to care
Hey
This is me
This is us
Who choose to be
That bit different in life
And we've learnt to pay the price
So the lessons start at roughly half past nine
But occasionally assemblies take a very long long time
Cos the headmaster just likes the sound of his own ginger voice
But you have to listen too, because you've got no other choice
On returning to the classroom for the lunchtime checking-in
You discover that your stuff's been thrown well deep into the bin
So you heave a sigh and rescue it from smells of school room crap
Only then to find your water bottle is missing its cap
And one day in maths some idiot decides to nick your phone
To send messages to people who are better left alone
When confronted they just shrug with their face painted in contempt
And you know that "sorry" will never be said, not one attempt
Hey
This is me
This is us
Who choose to be
That bit different in life
And we've learnt to pay the price
