In the morning I wake up
And all I think about is writing.
Without words,
I am truly nothing
For I cannot speak
Without tripping over the same sentences
Unless someone else is to feed me the words I am to speak.
I refuse to confound to their ways,
Therefore I must write what I cannot say.
I am a poet because without the words,
I am only silence.
I am a poet because without the emotions,
I am only a void.
I am a poet because without the art,
I am only an empty canvas.
I am a poet because without the stories,
I am only a journal to write in when necessary.
Without all of these things, I may as well be dead.
And I'm incapable of being silent,
Too full of life to be a blackhole,
Too colorful and different to be a canvas,
And I am not your journal to write in.
I can write my own story, thank you very much.
I can paint my own picture of love and deception.
I am a poet.
My profession is to write what cannot be said
Lest I die alone in silence.

what comes to my mind from your poem is; being a bubble of silence...and poetry being the point...to burst this bubble releasing all those bottled up thoughts....how profound this thought is...but for many of us...this is what it is...

Being a tad cautious here because having read the contest holder, I think he means to write of all 5 things in this here contest...I can see your desire in this.
