Beneath The Grass

Patch
of grass,
nod neglects
wilderness whims,
swirled in corset’s smile
peers with emerald shades,
verdant hues obscure insight
as heart erases with brush stroke
her face from remnants of his palette,
reborn anew with Mother Earth’s soft fields.

a soft write which to me addresses the painting over of the actual portrait that took place here - it almost gives a sense of a burial in the soft field and the recycling of earthen processes as well as painterly ones. Thank you.
