Butane mouthwash
to set alight this putrid oasis.
I carry a lighter in my tattered pocket
to burn
burn
burn
my sanctuary of waste
to the dirt.
This poisonous girl
with scabs
to hide the sparkle of her
reflection, paints her eyelids with stars
and lips with
carmine confections of copper.
Azure iris
tempt the masses into diseased wonder,
delivering zealous remedy by the mouthful,
She writes
madness
into memoirs of opaque delusions.
Singing “Holy, Holy”
a requiem for the virginal harlot,
a verse for her sister,
the seraphim,
pigment spilt upon the pavement
for the rest of us isolated

Singing “Holy, Holy”
a requiem for the virginal harlot,
a verse for her sister,
the seraphim,
outstanding stuff there. The requiem line is almost untouchable from anything else I've ever read. Thank you for entering the contest, good luck.

I really enjoyed this piece, hon'. It gives us a rather... I guess the word would be "burtal" view of what is going on in this person's mind. Although, I must admit, it has a very poetic quality about it.
I can also see that you seem to adore the words I've selected for use.
I'm glad that they could inspire you so deeply. The flow, despite the wide range of "larger" words, is nigh flawless.
Thank you for entering. I wish you the best of luck, and know that my Muse is quite impressed. -
From butane kisses to shattered colors, this was great through and through. I am always amazed at what you can do with a word bank. I shall get you one dictionary a year every christmas for the rest of your life.
