So it's the big 50 for you today.
Happy Birthday Jeff, there's more I can say!
I hope you have an over the hill cake,
black icing and tomb stones...Oh! stomachache!

 

For it's a tradition here in the states,

to roast the Birthday Boy and fill our plates.

It's fun making light of getting so old,

In a manner it's like being consoled

 

You're a talented man your poems show it; 

a good sport and the best rhyming poet,

and in these words I wanted to convey...

    Yes, they sure do like to give to the birthday folks back home in that old black humor way. Not how it's done here in Europe, so it strikes me a little funny these days. Good to give ole Jeff a taste of the states with your well wishes American style.

    WOnderful job on this piece I am sure Jeff will enjoy this piece...with the exceptions of the tombstones and the black cake...(shh I have the black banners waving...)

    The big 50?

    He doesn't look it. I like this write and I didn't know about the tombstone cake. All I got on my 50th was lunch with my family! It was nice though especially when my sister had a latte ready for me, for the ride out to the country in her car.

    I hope someone does something equally specially for Jeff's b'day. Wait a minute, we are.
