Reality - the Myth

Reality - the Myth

There is a place where secrets can be found,
a magic place that lies beyond the door.
Behind the door is where my dreams abound.
It always has and will for evermore,
be where the clocks of time are tightly wound.
So come with me, together we’ll explore,
the door that opens when we close our eyes;
as it reveals the things that mesmerize.

Just take my hand, I’m sure that you’ll agree,
that in this land of rational dismay,
you’ll find a comfort in absurdity,
as toadstools talk while dancing in ballet.
As we confer with mallards in a tree
the aardvarks tell us of their busy day.
The colors, sounds and music fill our mind,
in a symphony truncated and combined.

Complexity lies in simplicity,
as you converse with flowers singing hymns
and you may find a certain harmony,
with fallen leaves that speak in acronyms.
Just close your eyes; they are the only key,
to freedom ‘neath weeping willows limbs.
Relax and take the journey through your dreams,
reality is never what it seems.

This is such a delight to read Amera! It took me on a journey of dreams and how they can fill us with a sense of serenity, and the pressures of life seem less than what we imagined.

Beautifully done and I really love that form!

Beautiful write, Sis. Wonderful flow and I liked the ending of this piece. a lot of the time there can be more to reality than meets the eye. Maybe all it takes sometimes is to take a second look or think out of the box. Thanks for sharing your talent and best of luck in the contest.

A very lovely poem here to illustrate that we're limited only by our imagination. You do such wonderful work Amera.

This lovely poem shows your heart beautifully and cleverly. You are, when all is said and done, a romantic dreamer. Nothing is more fun than going with you on flights of romantic fancy to share the beauty of your wondrous and brilliant imagination. You bring me joy in your soft loving words. You are a treasure to all with whom you share your true mind. Three million bunnies represented by these uberbunnies you see here.

Well! My dreams seem boring compared to yours. Awesome poem, Amera. I love it!! If only the real world were like dreams...that'd be perfect. The imagery here is amazing.

Isn't that the truth... We fumble with the keys to unlock the doors when all we have to do is close our eyes and dream... Loved it!!!
