I listen
Rich notes rolling
Off vibrating strings
A thick melody
Of beauty and tears.
I lift my bow
Attempting to mimic the heavenly sound
Resulting in squeaks
And moans
And sighs.
I listen
To the light patter
Of raindrops falling
The teacher's fingers
Flying over the piano.
Frightened eyes
Look at the paper
Then the keys
Stiff fingers
Block otherwise graceful notes
Ruining a masterpiece
Shaming myself.
High laughter
Meandering off my brother's violin
As he starts to play
Laughter
That will remain for years
Until I compensate
With a piece
Of rumbling thunder
For once
His violin keeps its silence.
Author notes
Option number five. Funny, I play both the piano and cello. Lucky me.
To show I have read the rules, I would name a parrot:
Boy: Maximilian
Girl: Aderyn

This is cool! I love the combination you put of the piano and violin. I sadly only play the piano, but am hoping to play the cello one day. Very creative parrot names as well! Overall, nicely done!
