We had a circus, a riotous circus
lasted for days, weeks, months on end
then one morning the circus left town…
.
I remained, in the empty glade
with puddle-cast thoughts the rain had made
fishing for emotions from festive reflections
still swimming in the riotous circus days…
.
I find my face, it needs a shave
eyes glinting with the circus din
shared in a former time of this world
chasing visions that could have been…
.
Hands, smiles, elusive desires
promises, glances, longings, pleads,
gone with the circus, carried in illusions
that send to the heart what it so needs…

has a voice of a person with a well defined view of the world, the world well defined, and a place in it also well defined...and what he misses is also quite certain...I like this a lot. Thank you for this fine entry into the contest and best of luck in the judging...PK

Intriguing write ...
and I'm sure Pamela will agree.

seems to speak of regret. For me, it seems to be about losing something precious, and remembering good times now gone away. Very well written.
