I was once a lonely person
Whose love had gone away
I sat and waited longingly
For the dawn of a better day.
It seemed I was forgotten
That wasn't really so
All my life I've had many friends
Who kept me on the go.
I've been here and I've been there
I've travelled around and yet,
Out there are lots of good people
Who I have never met.
Now I've found someone who loves me
I've learned to love myself
Enjoy the business of living
Now I am off the shelf.
Life is too short to spend much time
On things that might have been
I moved on with the life I was living
Became more willing and keen.

Thank you. My better half says I must think in rhyme as most of my poetry is written that way. I am looking forward to being an reasonably active member of the group.
